A Silence Full of Stars
(Excerpts)

Coffee gone cold
on the bare wooden table
— the day hesitates.
Cracked mirror —
what I am becoming
looks back at me.
Mist over the river;
yesterday’s footsteps fade —
the water remembers.
Ancient atoms —
my body remembers
other stars.
A snowflake melts
on my sleeve:
all of winter dies.
Between two breaths
life pretends
to last.
